What is the difference between Java and JavaScript? JavaScript has been called "Java for the Rest of Us", an easier, simpler language to use.

Some of the more specific differences between Java and JavaScript are that JavaScript has an easier syntax and built-in functionality. JavaScript is embedded into the HTML page, but Java applets are accessed from the HTML Page.
